01What it's for

The impact map connects an Epic's goal to the change in behaviour we need from specific actors, and only then to possible deliverables. It is the bridge from Epic to Features.

Goal → Actor → Impact → Deliverable. Every deliverable is an option to achieve an impact, not a requirement.

02What it turns into on the old system

It becomes a work breakdown structure. The goal is broken straight into deliverables, actors and impacts are skipped, and every branch turns into scope that must be built.

03How you notice

Every branch ends in a deliverable that is “needed”.
No impact has a measure.
No deliverable is ever dropped once it is on the map.

04How to make it work

Make each impact measurable: which behaviour changes, by how much.

Treat deliverables as options. Build the cheapest one first, measure the impact, drop branches that don't move it.

Let the people closest to the customer choose the Features, as late as responsibly possible.
